| Synopsis: The phenomenon Deee-Lite, formed in 1986, fetched the vibrant New York club scene and delivered it over the airwaves as an emerging musical sub-culture, heavily influencing the wide-ranging club fashions of the 90's. The band led by Lady Miss Kier (vocals) and composed of deejays Super DJ Dmitry (guitar) and Jungle DJ Towa, assimilated a shared, but free association, for re-mixers and guest musicians, adding talent and originality to an already thickly grooved formula. The band amalgamated techno, rap, house, funk and jazz to create a zealous assortment of over-stimulated musicology, as well as, drag-queen influenced visual panache. Lady Miss Kier's penchant for platform shoes facilitated the 70's fashion revival and the band's distinctive creative make-up gained them loyal devotees who disregarded racial and sexual precincts. Their 1990 debut album World Clique produced the smash Groove is in the Heart (with funky guests Bootsy Collins and Maceo Parker) and brought them instant recognition and success. The follow-up Infinity Within brought a more conscious effort to life dealing with environmental issues and such while the 1994 Dewdrops in the Garden influenced the growing rave movement and marked the departure of DJ Towa (replaced by DJ Ani). The 1996 release of Sampadelic Relics and Dancefloor Oddities marked the band's last album and divorce.

Lady Miss Kier substantiates her vocal (and visual) talent by disarming your senses through dance and sheer purity of expression. The band's cryptic euphonious penchant, interspersed with melodious idiosyncrasies, helped shape the deejay and re-mixing craze hurling the '90s into a musical and Deee-lectable fury.

Deee-lectable ... By far the most sensuous of the Deee-lite albums, Dew Drops in The Garden will start off making you dance up a sweat and end up making love.
