According to Numan, and following meeting up with
Nine Inch Nails
recently when they played in London, Jerome Dillon,
NIN's drummer, played
on two tracks from the upcoming
Gary Numan album
titled 'Jagged Halo'. A huge amount of work is going in to the new album and
progress is now excellent. Rob Holliday and Monti from Sulpher, are once again
co-producing the majorirty of the album with Numan and the results, as before
with the 'Pure' album, are fantastic. With most of the writing done, Numan is
looking cautiously at a release date in October 2005. A single prior to the
album release is likely although not confirmed. A launch gig will be slotted in
for the albums week of release, an event that will be filmed, and a full UK
tour will follow soon after. Alternative versions of the new album are also
being planned as well as more singles and videos. In related news, the Electric
Pioneer Gary
Numan reference book by Paul Goodwin will be officially released in North
America on September 30th, 2005. Source: numan.co.uk A-HA: The
new A-Ha studio album is now in the mixing process. The band is in London to
mix the album with the renowned producer and engineer Flood. Flood (who is born
Mark Ellis, he reportedly acquired the name Flood as a result of his habit of
spilling tea in the studio) has been working as producer or engineer (or both)
for artists like U2,
Depeche Mode,
Smashing Pumpkins, P. J. Harvey and
Nick Cave.
A-Ha are also to play
their first US concert since October 1986! On September 12, 2005 A-Ha will play
Irving Plaza in New York City. It has been nearly 20 years since a-ha's last
concert on American soil. A-Ha are also playing at the 'Live 8' free concert in
Berlin on July 2nd, the event championed by Bob Geldof to highlight the ongoing
problem of global poverty and debt, and get the G8 to take real
action.Source: a-ha.com STROMKERN: 'StandUp' is the first

MODE: So far, the band have been working at Sound Design in Santa Barbara
and Stratosphere in New York. At least 12 tracks have been worked on during
these sessions. According to Dave's recent interview with Q, these 12 songs
include 'Everything', 'Sinner in Me', 'Suffer Well', 'Pain', 'Free' and
'Macro'. From earlier reports we also know of a song titled 'Martyr
For Love'. Dave places the album stylistically somewhere between 'Violator'
and 'Songs of Faith and Devotion', again according to the Q report. It's been
widely reported, and confirmed again by the Q article, that both
Martin Gore and
Dave Gahan has
written songs for the album. Working with the band in the studio are Ben
Hillier and Dave McCracken. A highly creative producer in great demand, Ben's
previous production credits include Blur, Clinic, Suede and Elbow to name a
few. Dave is well known for his programming skills, and has recently begun
venturing into production as well. His CV includes Seal, All Saints, Goldie and
James. In the art/promotion department, we know that Anton Corbijn is back,
taking pictures and doing the sleeves. We also know that German film production
company Q Film has announced their involvement with a Making of...
film about the new album. The project, helmed by director Uwe Flade, will
include footage filmed in L.A., New York and London. Uwe was also the brains
behind the 'Enjoy The Silence 04' video, as well as the video for
Dave Gahan's
'Bottle Living'. As far as a release date goes, Mute won't get any more
specific than some time this Autumn. Regarding the tour there's
still very few solid facts abound. What we do know is that it will be announced
on June 16th at a press conference in Düsseldorf,
Germany.Source: depeche-mode.com ROTERSAND: Now
signed to the German Dependent label, electro trio Rotersand follow their
stunning debut album, 'Truth Is Fanatic', with eagerly awaited sophomore
release'"Welcome To Goodbye'. For fans of sublime, melodic dance-floor
edged electro it delivers the goods - from the churning, vocoder bombast of
stomping hit single Exterminate, Annihilate, Destroy to slower symphonic
synth ballads such as the title track and album closer Angels
Fallingthat bookend the album. Between these two tracks lie 11 songs of
pummeling club-electro ferocity with tracks such as Dare To Live, Last Ship
(Clubbed Version), Storm and Undonedelivering hook-laden, driving
and trance tinged anthems for the dancefloor, alongside slower more
experimental workouts such as Almost Wasted and Would You Buy
This?. Awash with swathes of melodic sequencing, powerful rhythms and
euphoric synthpop overtones 'Welcome To Goodbye' sees Rotersand rising to meet
the challenge of established scene acts such as
Covenant,
Assemblage 23
and Apoptygma

conjunction with ACIDPlanet.com, is pleased to announce a remix contest to
celebrate the upcoming release of Lunascape's 'Mindstalking' single and
'Reminiscence' album. The grand prize winner receives nearly US$2000 in prizes,
including a Network Walkman Digital Music Player, loops libraries, a CD
duplication package, and more. The winning remix will be featured on a future
CD. The contest is open to residents of any country. Lunascape features
ex-Hooverphonic vocalist Kyoko Baertsoen, who also co-starred with Harry
Shearer in "IMAX Haunted Castle 3D." Lunascape recorded the theme for
that movie, as well as another IMAX feature, SOS Planet. They are also well
known for their hit song, Tears From The Moon, which was later covered
by Sinead O'Connor and
Conjure One with
great success. Musically, their style blends breathy female vocals with smooth
electronic production and a touch of rock, drawing comparisons to
Delerium,
Bjork, and Massive
Attack. The Mindstalking single will be released in early July and features
remixes by Dave Aude (Madonna, No Doubt, etc.), Roman Schoensee (The Dreamside,
Pyrogenesis, etc.), Eric Fischer (Tapping The Vein), Alexx Reed (ThouShaltNot)

vague echo from the past? Not anymore, because on July 29 they will make their
first live appearance in eighteen years, at Bush Hall in London. Martyn Bates
and Pete Becker founded Eyeless in Gaza, named after an Aldous Huxley book, in
1980. After their first single 'Kodak Ghosts Run Amok' quite a few records and
concerts followed, untill they decided to quit in 1987. Martyn Bates pursued an
active solo career (including Twelve Thousand Days with Alan Trench from
Orchis), while Peter Becker had his own (musical) activities. Throughout the
years there were various reunion albums of Eyeless in Gaza, including work on
the now defunct World Serpent label. 2005 will be an especially prolific year
for the project though. With a new album due later this year, July 6 sees the
release by Cherry Red Records of both the new retrospective CD 'No Noise' and
the DVD 'Saw You In Reminding Pictures'. Furthermore Bates is busy with solo
work, including a collaboration with Troum. Their music ranges from avant-folk,
to electronic soundscapes, to experimental improvisations. Background info
about Eyeless in Gaza can be found at their informative
website.Source: funprox.com, Order: Voice - Best of Eyeless in Gaza May 19, 2005 KELLY OSBOURNE:
Ozzy's daughter is ready to release her second album 'Sleeping In The Nothing'
on May 23rd in the UK, and June 7th in North America. The new album is a total
80s dance club soundtrack yet it's set against vulnerable, emotional lyrics.
"Originally we talked about doing something that was very raw . . . no
backing vocals, nothing too electronic but suddenly we had this 80s pop vibe
and we went with it," Kelly explains. "I wanted an album that could
be played at any dance club in the world!". A departure from her
breakthrough debut, 2004's Changes (Sanctuary), and produced by Linda Perry
(Gwen Stefani); the CD includes a number of pop gems co-written by Kelly
herself. Creating a clever hybrid of electronica melded with just the right
touch of attitude, Kelly establishes a sincere sound that comes together with a
sense of confidence. While the album as a whole is a newwave throwback, the
first single One Word bears an uncanny resemblance to
Visage's 1980 hit
Fade to Grey, from the synthpop melodies to the sampled french dialogue.

POSTHUMUS: E.S. POSTHUMUS, a.k.a. Helmut and Franz Vonlichten, do their
creative work with some of the industrys biggest players but remain a
mystery to most. The songs on UNEARTHED, their first album released on May 3rd,
pay homage to ancient cultures with their titles (Cuzco, Pompeii, Harrapa and
Ebla), chanting, classical instrumentation and archaic use of Latin, yet they
are as contemporary as Deep Forest and Enigma. The music is at one moment dark
and choral and at another light and airy; one moment you are in Germany and
then in Ireland or South America. Its a film score, clearly cinematic,
but theres no movie - rather there are dozens of movies since these
creations from E.S. POSTHUMUS
have found their way into numerous films, film trailers and television shows:
Spiderman; Matrix Reloaded; Ali; The Clearing; Team America; The Recruit; Time
Machine; Planet of the Apes, Minority Report; Cold Case; Six Feet Under and
many more. According to the brothers Vonlichten who formed their band in 2000,
E.S. Posthumus is an acronym for Experimental Sounds and
Posthumus is a word which represents all things past.
The music is inspired by the Pythagorean Philosophy which states that
music is the harmonization of opposites; the conciliation of warring
elements. E.S. Posthumus compose using both past and present music,
instruments, orchestration, harmony and technology, and their studio uses the
latest technology; nevertheless, their prize possessions are the ancient
Silvertone 8086 wire recorder and a 1952 Neuman am32b cutting lathe and of
course, live musicians whenever possible. Full songs can be streamed on

a homage to the terminal buildings from which it drew its name its musical
perfection - an architecturally dense construction of textured layers and
gridded electronics. Maxi opener Blood Rushed To Head bursts into life
with Teutonic machine rhythms, phased vocals and spectral synth work
(reminiscent of early(ish) Skinny Puppy and more commercial Cabaret Voltaire)
while the second chorus brings on board a killer sequencer line adding to the
overall oppressive atmospherics. As neat, perfectly presented packages of
distilled electro come 'Stansted' is near perfect, as appealing to fans of
hardcore EBM, to ambient aficionados, electronica experts (fans of Hands will

another inspired reinvention of the Gothic music scene that they helped to
define and create - a heady mixture of brooding textures, guitar fuelled
darkness and velvet melody that is uniquely Lacrimosa. Tracklisting: 01. Saphire 02. Kelch der Liebe 03. Lichtgestalt 04. Nachtschatten 05. My Last Goodbye 06. The Party Is Over 07. Mind.In.A.Box is that rare species of band who create music as a catalyst of
expression, a storytelling medium, a means of getting the listener to reflect
or, put quite simple : who make music for music's sake. The electronic duo
belong without a doubt to a category all of their own - having awed listeners
with their unique vision of the future with their stunning 2004 debut 'Lost
Alone'. For many a light at the end of the tunnel, 'Lost Alone' rose like a
phoenix from the ashes of the splintered electro scene (and was justifiably
heaped with praise from both press and fans alike,. spending weeks at the top
of the DAC charts and winning countless 'album of the month' awards). Returning
with their long-awaited sophomore album 'Dream Web' - they deliver an album
that places multifaceted electronics, diversity, and harmonized vocals squarely
in the foreground. However, behind the fragile mix of techno, electro, and
ambient lies a wealth of expressive power and emotion that reveals itself only
through careful, multiple listenings, like a fine painting that leaves room for
interpretation, divulging its beauty piece by piece. Like its predecessor 'Lost
Alone', 'Dream Web' is an exciting, genre-bending journey into other worlds
that must be expierienced to be believed. Release date: May 20,

come for Jennifer to take her revenge on the world with her new 10-track ep,
'My Revenge On The World', an appetiser for her forthcoming 'Flicker' album.

from Charles Baudelaire's "Flowers Of Evil". Additional guest vocals

the latest release from Monstrum Sepsis and the full length follow-up to 2003's
Deep Sea Creatures. With this release, Monstrum Sepsis has ventured into
uncharted territory by delivering a more sonically upbeat album with a heavier
emphasis placed on melody. Movement does have MS's signature blend of noise and
driving bass lines but this release will appeal more to fans of Warp Records

Australia's premier Gothic / Darkwave act returns. Hot on the heels of a
successful EP ('Psychic Vampire'),
Ikon usher forth their
first full length album since 2001. 'Destroying the World to Save It' offers
thirteen tracks showcasing intricate and creative songwriting, and a
refreshing, invigorating sound for the band. The overall production and sonic
quality is the best yet from Ikon, thanks in part to mastering by the talented
engineer Ted Phelps. With songs such as Rome and Without Shadows
they pick up the thread of club hits like Condemnation. Many of the
tracks on 'Destroying The World To Save It' will certainly please existing Ikon
followers, whereas others (such as Psychic Vampire), could be a Darkwave
hit in any modern Goth club, and will surely bring in a whole new generation of
adoring fans! 'Destroying the World to Save It', with its dark melodies and
moody guitars, will please those who yearn for a sound once made popular by
artists such as Joy

and is scheduled for release on June 6, 2005. The first single Speed of
Sound was released on April 20 electronically and hit the number 1 spot on
iTunes on April 21st. Lead singer Chris Martin, who married actress Gwyneth
Paltrow in late 2003, extends the love-dominated theme with the consecutive
songs Hardest Part and Swallowed in the Sea, the latter of which
mourns for lost loved ones. Built around fast but folky acoustic strumming in
the vein of Nick Drake, the bonus track 'Til Kingdom Come puts it even
simpler: "for you I've waited all these years." One surprise is
Talk, an early version of which was leaked online earlier this year. The
band has since completely revamped the song structure, adding different lyrics
and ratcheting up the guitar levels. The cut retains the melody from
Kraftwerk's Computer Love, with the main riff played on guitar as
opposed to the synthesizers that marked the original. Coldplay is gearing up
for an April 29 warm-up show at the Joint in Las Vegas, and a headlining slot
the following night at California's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.

MODE: As announced earlier in January,
Depeche Mode are
currently in Santa Barbara, California recording their first studio album since
2001's, 'Exciter', due for release this Autumn. 2004 ended on a high for
Depeche Mode, generated largely by the success of their remix album, 'Depeche
Mode Remixes 81-04' which sold over 1 million copies worldwide and produced the
top 10 single, 'Enjoy The Silence' remixed by Mike Shinoda. The new album is
being co-produced by Depeche Mode and Ben
Hillier, whose credits include Elbow's 'Cast Of Thousands' album, the current
acclaimed Doves release, 'Some Cities' and Blur's classic, 'Think Tank'.
"It's a great feeling to be back together in the studio again and we are
very excited about the new material", says
Dave Gahan.
"We are all feeling incredibly positive about the album. Ben Hillier has
brought a whole new dynamic to the group which is quite
inspiring."Source: depechemode.com BILLY CORGAN: Former Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan will
release his debut solo album, 'TheFutureEmbrace', on June 21st, 2005.
"It's guitar-driven and loud, but not aggressive," Corgan tells
Rolling Stone. "The videos, music and tour will be really new and
different. No one will accuse me of sitting on my past." Recorded in
Chicago, Future was co-produced by Corgan and features eleven new songs,
including the first single, Walking Shade, as well as an unlikely cover
of the Bee Gees' To Love Somebody, with
The Cure's Robert
Smith on backing vocals. "The Cure is one of my
favorite bands of all time," Corgan says. "Robert is a good friend of
mine, so it's a dream come true. That song's sort of a gem that not everyone
will know." As for Corgan's aforementioned past, more than 200 Pumpkins'
songs will be made available digitally through online music stores on April
5th, including their six studio albums and dozens of B-sides. "The band
was really aggressive about recording B-sides," Corgan says. "There's
a song called 'Set the Ray to Jerry' that Flood, our producer, didn't
think much of, but many Pumpkins fans think it's one of the best things we ever
did." Corgan just finished shooting the video for Walking Shade in
Los Angeles and he plans to launch a world tour in July. - Ozymandias" concerns the transitory nature of human creation based
around a famous romantic poem by P.B.Shelley. "IV - Ozymandias"
mirrors the embers of passion and consuming powers with haunting,
percussion-based songs, elemental and medieval passages, haunting arias and
classical atmospheres. As usual, Michael Popp and Fil Groth's diverse sonic
language turns even a familiar piece into a totally new and independent song
bridged somewhere between classical and pop music, iridescent and impossible to
pin down. Like its predecessors "IV - Ozymandias" expertly uses
different medieval European languages on its journey through this endless world
of emotions, elements and Middle Age influences, the end result delivered in a
modern, beguiling, uplifting and totally unique way. Release date: May 09,
