Leaether Strip - Suicide BombersLEAETHER STRIP: A true Legend returns at last with a Brand New maxi EP. Leaether Strip are poised to launch the new 'Suicide Bombers' EP on the planet this October 28, 2005 and they return stronger than ever with an arsenal reloaded to the maximum for the ultimate dark industrial warfare all fans have been dreaming of. With countless albums under his belt, Claus Larsen has explored through his career various music styles within the electronic genre ranging from harsh aggressive EBM with distorted vocals to melodic dark synth pop, through more introspective bombastic symphonic orchestrations. This new EP gathers a bit of all these ingredients wrapped by Claus Larsen's unique genius and is no doubt the best present he could be offering to fans of strong electronic music with depth and edge. 'Suicide Bombers' is no doubt one of the most powerful harsh EBM tracks ever written by Leaether Strip. A sublime 7-track release that reminds us why Leaether Strip has reached such a cult status on the electro / industrial scene, and has throughout the years recurrently been acknowledged by many artists as one of their biggest influences.

God Module - Viscera GOD MODULE: October 11th, 2005 sees the eagerly anticipated third full length release from US dark electro duo God Module : 'Viscera' delivers what is easily their most brutal sonic-assault to date - with tracks ranging from relentlessly aggressive dance floor assaults, analogue synth melodies and pumping, eighties-style sequencers to violently beautiful mid tempo laments. Also included on 'Viscera' is a nostalgic reflection of God Module's youth in the shape an extraordinary cover version of The Cure classic A Night Like This, torn apart from it's original state and brutally reconstructed as a God Module dance floor anthem. 'Viscera' further cements God Module's supremecy amongst the top acts within the dark-electro dance scene. The Limited Edition double digi-pack version of the album comes complete with a Bonus Disc including 6 Exclusive Bonus Tracks plus a logo sticker.

New Order: Item (DVD)NEW ORDER: 'New Oder: ITEM' is a two-disc DVD which includes two complete releases: 'A Collection', which gathers all of the music videos plus two never-before-released clips created exclusively for this compilation (alternate versions of Temptation and Ceremony), and 'New Order Story', a documentary expanded with extended interviews with the band and other musician's like U2's Bono, as well as live footage. Having already cemented a solid place in rock history with Joy Division, the band had very little left to prove but their influence was far from over. With their uninhibited use of electronics, the group changed the way audiences forever view electronic music and its integration into traditional rock genres. Over two decades later, their footprint is all the more palpable as bands like The Killers, The Bravery and Bloc Party consistently cite New Order's music as a key influence.

Theatre of TragedyTHEATRE OF TRAGEDY: Following an extended period of silence, speculation and uncertainty, Norwegian Gothic Metal pioneers Theatre of Tragedy are now pleased to announce their joining with AFM Records/Soulfood Distribution. The band will start the recording next week, and a release is scheduled for the 24th of March 2006. The new album will be recorded at Toproom studio, which has previously hosted such acts as Mayhem, Extol and Tristania, to name but a few. The style of the new material could be regarded as the natural follow-up to the 'Aégis' album, with the rough edge of contemporary rock, spiked with occasional electronic shrapnel, but with a generally darker atmosphere than has been the case for the past two albums. And for those of you still not aware, this will be the first album featuring the new female singer Nell, whose voice has added a new passion to the band's sound.

Echo & the Bunnymen - SiberiaECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN: Echo & The Bunnymen will be releasing 'Siberia', their first album in four years on September 19th, 2005. 'Stormy Weather' is the first single to be taken from the superb new album 'Siberia', and is to be released on the 5th of September on Ltd edition 7" Vinyl and CD. 'Siberia' is the crystallization of everything that has made the band so wonderful during their illustrious 26 year career. The single-minded powerhouse motif of Parthenon Drive recalls the sonically hypnotic 'Heaven Up Here' album of 1981, Everything Kills You is as achingly anthemic as any of McCulloch’s greatest ballads, Make Us Blind marries Spector pop sensibilities to brooding indie magnificence, while the title track is another classic-in-waiting; a semi-funk riff taken to dizzier heights by a top drawer Will Sergeant snake charmer guitar line. Hugh Jones produced the new album, the first time he’d worked with the Bunnymen since acting as producer on the group’s second album 'Heaven Up There'. “The band we’ve got around us now are the closest to the old Bunnymen we’ve ever had. Not that we’ve intentionally set out to capture the past in any way", says McCulloch.
Tracklisting: 1. Stormy Weather 2. All Because of You Days 3. Parthenon Drive 4. In The Margins 5. Of A Life 6. Make Us Blind 7. Everything Kills You 8. Siberia 9. Sideways Eight 10. Scissors In The Sand 11. What If We Are?

After Forever - RemagineAFTER FOREVER: After Forever's latest studio album, 'Remagine', is a trailblazer of a record and travels beyond musical limits and heightens certain contrasts. Following their latest concept album 'Invisible Circles' (2003) , 'Remagine', albeit featuring the trusted sound we have come to know as typically After Forever, still manages to sound vital and new. 'Remagine' is a CD that displays a wide musical sphere and aims for extremes. Despite its great diversity, it is convincingly coherent as a whole, emphasising once more the craftmanship that After Forever possess. "For me Remagine is combining dreaming with realism", says lead singer Floor Jansen. On 'Remagine', After Forever is seeking out the outer extremities of metal's borders, and stepping outside them convincingly and with no qualms whatsoever at times, all the while retaining the unique identity that constitutes After Forever. HIM - Dark LightH.I.M: Finnish goth-metallers His Infernal Majesty are set to release their fifth album, 'Dark Light', on September 27. After conquering the rest of the world with chart-topping albums and sold-out tours that have seen them play before literally hundreds of thousands of fans over the last decade, Finland's finest are finally making the push for American dominance with 'Dark Light'. Mixed at New York's famed Electric Ladyland studios with producer Tim Palmer (Robert Plant, U2), the band recorded for the first time in the States, holing up for several weeks in the famed Paramour house in Silver Lake, California. The goal was to create a crazy, surreal, weird, David Lynch, Tim Burton feel, but all within the AC/DC context. This 10-song collection is classic HIM: haunting, gothic, rocking, beautiful, melodic, and an album that can only come from Valo and his mates. Wings of a Butterfly, is the first single off HIM's upcoming album, and is available at digital retailers like iTunes and Napster. HIM has created a special edition of 'Dark Light' with two extra songs and more just for their online fans to be purchased from their website. It comes in a collectible tin box that holds the full album plus two bonus tracks - Venus (In Our Blood) and The Cage, a 32-page booklet including handwritten lyrics from Ville plus fan tattoo pictures and more, and a HIM logo-flashlight keychain in a velvet bag that projects the Heartagram on a wall.

New Model Army - CarnivalNEW MODEL ARMY: The long awaited new studio album from New Model Army, titled 'Carnival', will be released in Europe on Sep 5th, and in North America on Sep 6th, 2005. The record will be released (as all recent albums) through the band's own label - Attack Attack Records. The album was mostly written in the rehearsal studio in Bradford and then arranged by the band in the recording studio in deepest Wales, where it was recorded by Chris Tsangarides.' Carnival' really conveys the power of the band - pounding rhythms, soaring bass, driving guitars and biting vocals combine in the passionate and dynamic way that only NMA can produce. Justin's lyrics are as poignant as always. Subject matter swings from Britain and Bradford to Africa via religion and relationships, and the poetry is as beautiful as ever. The first single Island was made available via iTunes on August 16. Island is one of the stand out tracks on Carnival with a driving rhythm that is basically a wonderful Nelson bass solo from start to finish. It was one of the first tracks written and recorded and was featured in the live show ever since the band got out of the studio. Accessories - Rareties and B-SidesTHE GATHERING: The Gathering and Century Media are opening their archives to present a luxurious double CD set full of rare and unreleased material. 'Accessories - Rarities And B-Sides' will be released in Europe on August 22, 2005. CD1 offers "the b-sides" from all of their out-of-print CD-singles, including rarities like Adrenaline and Theme From The Cyclist, as well as cover versions from Talk Talk, Dead Can Dance and Slowdive. CD 2 is full of unreleased demo recordings. At the end of 1996, The Gathering recorded demos for their 'Nighttime Birds' album with German rocker Eroc (Grobschnitt, etc.). For the first time ever, you can hear all of the alternate versions as well as two instrumentals that were not used on 'Nighttime Birds'. The other lost pearl from the band's archive are the so-called "Texel Tapes", with pre-production recordings for 'How To Measure A Planet?', including great alternate versions. 'Accessories - Rarities And B-Sides' also features detailed liner notes by the band, rare photos and a special packaging. Starting as a raw, death metal-influenced band, and creating what later should be called gothic metal, The Gathering have been an extraordinary group since the early '90s. From their rough metal roots, to the atmospheric tunes Mandylion had to offer, to dreamy, profound songs on 'Nighttime Birds' or 'How To Measure A Planet?' to their latest adventures within the progressive/triprock field, the Dutch crew always remained true to themselves while building up a continuously increasing fan base.

Stromkern - Light It UpSTROMKERN: Almost four years after the release of Armageddon comes Stromkern's 4th studio album, 'Light It Up' on August 23rd, 2005. The effects of four years of touring can be heard throughout the record, but most clearly on tracks like Forgiven or Delete, with pummeling acoustic drums and guitars meshing with Stromkern's signature electronic core. The new album also marks the band's first forays into outside vocal collaborations, with Frank Spinath of Seabound guesting on the technoid Sentinel and Victoria Lloyd of Claire Voyanton the ballad Hindsight. The first single "Stand Up", a classic Stromkern track packed with dense sequences and Ned's rapid-fire vocal, peaked at #4 in the German Alternative Charts and remains in regular rotation at clubs throughout the world. Lyrically, 'Light It Up' presents Ned's reflections on the last several years spent living in the United States: war, terrorism, globalization, corruption and greed are the topics of the day. To coincide with the album's release Stromkern are preparing to undertake yet another US tour, possibly followed by a European leg later in the year. With a live lineup bolstered by Tyler Newman (Battery Cage), Dan Clark (Null Device), Chuck Spencer (Stochastic Theory) and Vince Grech (Sister Machine Gun, Thanatos, 13mg), this promises to be the most dynamic and powerful live incarnation of the band to date. The US Tour starts on August 24th and raps on October 10th, with support acts PTI or Battery Cage.

Side-Line 52SIDE-LINE ISSUE 52: The Belgian music magazine, Side-Line, has interviewed Annik Honoré for their 52nd Summer issue. Honoré had a relation with Joy Division's Ian Curtis up until the moment he died in 1981. NavigatorFUNKER VOGT: Electro Legends Funker Vogt - Germanic, Teutonic and utterly emeshed in the pervasive topic of combat and war-torn subject matter return with brand new album 'Navigator'. Taking its cue from lead single Fallen Hero, this new album sees them fixing their crosshairs firmly on the dancefloor with a mixture of political insight fused with their bombastic, pumping electro - with tracks such as Friendly Fire, Rejects and Stronghold delivering that patented euphoric Funker Vogt sound - an avalanche of direct, melodic electro anthems, rousing choruses and pummeling synthetic basslines. Elsewhere more personal and direct songs such as The End, House Of Sorrows, No Tomorrow and For You show a diverse and welcome edge to Funker Vogt - always melodic, but with slightly more complex arrangements (even utilising intensified guitar on tracks Forward!, Starfighters and No Tomorrow) and positive sound elements attached to their driving structures. A must for all fans and newcommers too - 'Navigator' opens a new era for Funker Vogt, one that sees them taking their patented sound into new areas while still retaining their core philosophy. Due on September 13, 2005, via Sanctuary, "Black and White 050505" was recorded in Italy and Holland. Nearly 30 years after forming in Glasgow, founding members Jim Kerr (vocals) and Charlie Burchill (guitar) are still on board. According to Kerr, it was a tough call. "There are a number of songs on the album that will make great singles. Apoptygma BerzerkAPOPTYGMA BERZERK: Back with a new sound, Stephan Groth uses his Apoptygma moniker to release his latest album "You and Me Against The World". With a new look and a new sound, Stephan embraces the indie rock, britpop style of bands like Interpol, Placebo, and the Killers, and moves away from the future-pop music that he helped define for the past decade. Last year Grothesk tried to cash in on the trendy electroclash movement with his not-so successful Fairlight Children project. This time around, he is using the Apoptygma Berzerk band name to release the new album which is described as retro post-punk rock while maintaining its electronic roots, similar to New Order or later Depeche Mode. The first single In This Together is to be released on August 15. The album includes contributions from Mortiis and Anneli Drecker of Bel Canto.
