Middelhauve is not the singer of

anymore. After almost eight years of successful work together she decided to
leave the band due to personal reasons. For some time now Lisa didn´t feel
comfortable with her role as Xandria´s front woman anymore and wants to
step aside to make it possible for the band to find someone who can stand
behind Xandria
completely. The split was reportedly amicable and the band thanks Lisa for her
memorable contribution to Xandria and wishes her all the best in future
endeavors. Xandria as a band
will continue to exist, and the remaining band members are now actively looking
for a new female singer. To conincide with the end of the first chapter of
Xandria a Best Of compilation will be release on June 06, 2008. The CD/DVD
includes all highlights of the band, a few rarities, the Summerbreeze 2007

album 'This Changes Nothing' . Melding sensibilities rooted in techno,
synth-pop, art rock, avant-classical and straight-up indie electronic dance

Erasure,
Interpol, The

hypnotic sound that truly sets them apart. And you can dance to it. Ready Fire

greatest artists for the good cause of Tibet. They sing the classic Dutch song:
"Als Je Ooit Nog Eens Terug Kan" (If You Could Ever Return).
This single is out now. The money that will be raised will go directly to three
Tibetan nuns who live in exile in the north of India who have suffered torture
by the Chinese authorities for singing a protest song on the steps of the Dalai
Lamas palace. In related news, Anneke has also written several new songs
for Agua de

ALMOND:
'Gabriel and the Lunatic Lover' is the first in a series of collaborative
releases by Marc
Almond and Michael Cashmore. The duo sets to music two poems by Count
Stanislaus Eric Stenbock, the extraordinary 19th-century gay writer whose
bizarre life of decadence, drug-addiction, alcoholism, and poetry - coupled
with Satanic, vampiric, and Catholic obsessions - led to his early death at the
age of 36 in 1895. Stenbocks final years, it is said, saw him accompanied
everywhere by a life-size wooden doll that he called "le petit comte"
and which he believed to be his son. This two-track CDEP features vocals from
the legendary Almond, who
needs no introduction, and music composed and performed by Cashmore, well-known
for his extensive catalog of recordings with Current 93 and Nature And
Organisation, as well as for his work as a solo artist. The CD is housed in a
beautiful full-color digipak that contains previously unpublished paintings of
Almond by Russian artist Vania Soutavliov, a rare photograph of the enigmatic
Count, and the complete texts to both poems. This will be first available to
purchase at the Current 93 and Friends show in London on 21 April, then from
Marc
Almonds series of shows at Wiltons Music Hall, and then available on
general release. Link: myspace.com/michaelcashmore LEAETHER STRIP: Available now via the digital downloadstores of

collaborate with David Chang (Stamping Ground, Earthtone9, Gorretted, Panic
Cell) on co-production/mixing, and Jason Metcalf (DC Comics) on pencils and
inks along with Javier Tartaglia on colors for the artwork, to release a
Limited Edition of the single "Phantom of the Opera" on May 10, 2008
through Incendium Records. The single will also feature previously unreleased
instrumental bonus tracks. The "Phantom" single artwork depicts
Eternal Descent characters Loki and Lyra taking on the roles of the Phantom and
Christine. The release will contain bonus tracks which will be available with
the artwork via digital download once physical stocks are depleted. The title
track will also be distributed freely as a stand alone MP3 for a short period
of time. The "Phantom of the Opera" single is a taste of things to
come from the new Eternal Descent album and comic slated for an August, 2008
release, and will be the first time characters other than Lyra are given vocal
parts on an album. Eternal Descent's sound weaves elements of metal,
industrial, ambient and experimental music fused with romantic filmscore
arrangements. The aim of this project is to integrate comic book visuals and
animation within an album style series of releases.Link: myspace.com/eternaldescent MAR 29, 2008 DEPECHE MODE: The
website "Home" (depeche-mode.com) reports that
Depeche Mode
have finally set a date for when work starts on their forthcoming album, which
will hopefully see the light of day in a years time. The band had a meeting
just before Easter to make a rough time line and listen to demos. According to
sources close to the band, Ben Hillier will do a repeat stint as producer for
Depeche Mode on
their forthcoming album. Hillier, whos CV includes names like
U2, Smashing
Pumpkins and more recently The Rascals and The Horrors, also helmed Modes
most recent full length studio output, 'Playing The Angel'.Link: depeche-mode.com ESSENCE OF
MIND: With their powerful and aggressive new album titled 'Insurrection', the
Norwegian duo ESSENCE OF MIND does not bother about wars or politics, instead
they would rather spit their rage against human's stupidity and brainlessness.
It is definitely not everyday that Norway bears a new electronic fruit.
However, history has shown us that with bands like
Apoptygma
Berzerk, Icon Of Coil or
yet Combichrist,
the Norwegian seal is a guarantee for skill and quality. Created in the spring
of 2006, Oslo's up-and-coming electro duo ESSENCE OF MIND will certainly
maintain the excellence we have come to expect from Norwegian electronics!
Their hard-hitting sonic assaults combine modern techno body music, pumping EBM
bass-lines, catchy synth melodies and strong powerful vocals. Release Date: May

reworks GLIS material on GLIS 2001-2008 a Shot and a Bassline, the
revisited collection, an album title which has as much importance as its
sub-title: 15 tracks re-cut and remastered by Krischan Wesenberg of
ROTERSAND. GLIS' frontman Shaun Frandsen indeed brings us something entirely
unique in today's dark scene. A straight re-cut concept for which he teamed up
with Krischan Wesenberg (known for being the man behind the music of
ROTERSAND)
who worked from the fully mastered original versions of the 15 selected tracks.
He rearranged the songs, used some parts from one song and cuts from others,
adding overdubs to the re-edits, new beat elements, additional sequences,
effects and filtering; basically making every track different from the original
recordings. Seattle based artist Shaun F. started out with the EBM / industrial
band GLIS in 2001. He is also known for becoming in 2005 a member for
Combichrist
and for joining VNV Nation on
stage in 2007 as live keyboardist as well. And since Dec 2007, Shaun F. has
also been in studio producing a new GLIS full-length album from which a couple
of first exclusive extracts are revealed for the first time on this blasting
new remix album that will keep you dancing harder and longer on GLIS until his
next assault. Release Date: May 2nd, 2008.Order: A Shot and a Bassline MAR 23, 2008 KINETIK FESTIVAL: Artoffact

our favorite associate music store Music Non Stop has now officially stopped
trading. Here's the official statement: "Despite our never-ending efforts
over the last 12 months, and a concentrated attempt to soldier-on in some form
or another in the past weeks, it has regrettably come time to call it a day.
There are a number of factors that have resulted in this sad conclusion, some
of which include the current exchange rates of the Euro and the dollar against
the pound, the lack of consistent 'big name' releases in this scene, increase
in distributor and day to day running costs, and other methods now available of
obtaining new music, to name but a few. We have always tried to deliver the
best for our customers and have always put them first from day one and set high
standards for ourselves. We have also tried our best to push and promote
smaller labels and bands to try and help them get more exposure. We hope that
in the time that we have been trading we have provided a service most people
have been very happy with and we are just sorry that we are unable to continue.
As a result we sadly have to report that all outstanding orders have had to be
cancelled as we are unable to fulfil them. We apologise for the inconvenience
that this will cause. Unfortunately we are unable to answer any emails on an
individual basis. Paypal customers please contact Paypal with regards to a
refund." BLACKSUN FESTIVAL: The final line-up for this

quartet DeVotchKa. Not long ago when the band unloaded their instruments - a
violin, a tuba and an accordion, among others - into a rock club, they were
told they must be in the wrong place. They created music that was Grammy
nominated (DeVotchKa created the soundtrack for the indie smash Oscar winning
film Little Miss Sunshine) without the benefit of a huge promotion team or
runaway budget, instead relying only on their own efforts by self-releasing
their records. And they crafted gems of songs by mixing a beautiful blend of
Eastern European bohemia, American prairie rock and distinctive indie and
called it pop, rather than world, music. Now, the band is au courant, poised to
shine on with their Anti- Records debut 'A Mad and Faithful Telling' scheduled
for release on March 18, 2008. From the cinematic richness of
Transliterator to the modern pop experiment of The Clockwise
Witness, to the soaring and wrenching Undone, DeVotchKa have
produced a career-defining record and the world is listening.Tracklisting: 01. Basso Profundo 02. Along the Way 03. The Clockwise Witness 04. Head Honcho 05. Comrade Z 06. Transliterator 07. trip-hop electro and post-shoegaze sensibility, interlacing slinky vocals and

REVENGE: She Wants Revenge have officially been released from their
contract with Geffen/Interscope records, and have announced the launching of
their own independent record company Perfect Kiss Records. The label will
function as an online entity, as well as a distributed "brick and
mortar" independent label which will be available in stores, and in
addition to She Wants
Revenge, they plan on releasing other artists. Quoting Justin and Adam:
"... it's just that at this point the things that we want to achieve
creatively cannot be done within the system that helped us get to this point.
We would like to be able to release music as soon as it is made, meaning, if we
write a song a week, then why should that song have to wait six months to a
year or more for it to find a home? It shouldn't, and if there is a collection
of songs that feels as if it wants to come out, then we will release an EP, or
an LP accordingly. It sounds so simple, and it is, only things get so
complicated when you are worried about market share, release schedules, radio
play, and quarterly earnings. Also, we would like to release a minimum of one
album and one EP per year, in addition to remixes, singles, and b-sides.
Sometimes there will be more output, and sometimes less, as we will also be
producing and releasing albums by other artists to be released on Perfect
Kiss" Link: myspace/shewantsrevenge ALAN WILDER: In an open
letter to Side-line, Alan Wilder (Recoil, ex-Depeche Mode)
talks candidely about the state of the music industry today and the future of
music. "I've long since given up expecting to make a profit from what I
do. And you might expect that I would be full of resentment and bitterness
toward my own record company but that's not really it. Mute are victims in all
this. The reality is that all the companies are suffering and are desperately
clinging on by their fingernails trying to come up with solutions as the rug is
pulled from beneath them. In Mute's case, EMI have inflicted so many spending
restrictions and are 're-shaping' and 'streamlining' with department
'centralisation' and the reduction of the artist roster. EMI big cheese Guy
Hands describes his business as 'an unsustainable model' with a need to 'reduce
waste'.... Garbage collection. Thinly veiled rhetoric meaning Curbacks! He
talks of 'eliminating duplication and bureaucracy'. Bottom line: 2000 jobs have
to go. More worryingly, he also offers us the information that currently about
3% of the entire roster is profitable and that those that never will be
profitable, no matter how the model is changed, can kiss their arses goodbye.
(...) By the time I finish another album, who knows if I'll have a record deal
at all? It would be a shame to end my association with Mute after such so many
good years but I've got a feeling the decision could be out of my hands. Much
depends on the future of Mute/EMI and indeed all the companies. It could be
that the major selling artists on Mute just get sucked into the EMI machine and
all the others fall by the wayside, including the Mute label itself. It will be
a sad day indeed."Link: side-line FEB 24, 2008 ANATHEMA:
Anathema will be working on two record releases this year. The band has taken
their recording equipment to a house in England where they have built a studio
and begun the first of two records to be released in 2008. Here's the band's
statement: "This first record is a semi-acoustic recording of many of our
most loved older tracks. This will be released on Peaceville records. The
working title is Temporary Peace. The songs to be included on
Temporary Peace are: Angelica, Leave No Trace, Inner Silence,
One Last Goodbye, Are You There, Fragile Dreams, A Natural Disaster, Temporary
Peace and Flying. The record will be a substantial work, arranged by
Danny and performed and produced by the band, recorded and engineered by our
own Les Smith, who was responsible for the recordings of 'Everything and
the other new songs released online last year. This will also feature the cello
of Dave Wesling, who previously toured with Vincent and Danny in 2004 and is
featured on the DVD A Moment in Time. It may also include a
reworking of one or two classic tracks from the very early days of
Anathema. In
late winter/early spring, immediately following the recording of this
semi-acoustic album, we will enter a studio to record the next full length
Anathema
album, which be produced by Anathema and mixed by Steven Wilson, independently
from a record company. Upon completion, the new album will be licensed around
the world, giving us artistic and creative control and keeping the rights to
the music in our own hands."Link: anathema.ws FEB 17, 2008 GARDEN OF
DELIGHT: Garden Of Delight pay their band the last respects although they
had already said goodbye with their officially last album 'Darkest Hour'. 'In

therefore be regarded as a legacy of the most authentic German Goth Rock band.
The album was arranged by Artaud Seth himself and offers a perfect mixture of
the band's greatest hits, sometimes rerecorded, remixed and all of them
completely remastered plus six unreleased, exclusive bonus songs. Release date

TEARS: German Gothic Metal band
Flowing
Tears are almost done with the songwriting of their new studio album. 12
songs have been written so far, but maybe not all of them will find their way
to the album. Studios are already booked and the production will start in May.
A release is scheduled for autumn 2008. The new material is said to be much
more atmospheric than the sound on their last few albums. Some of the songs are
reminiscent of their work on albums like 'Jade' or 'Joy Parade' while still
having the power of the songs from the 'Razorbliss' era. Way less synths this
time and way more guitars reportedly. Some heavy and doomy material also. No
working title yet, but some of the songs that are finished so far are entitled
Pain Has Taken Over, Words Before You Leave, Until The Endand For My
Enemies.Link: myspace/flowingtears FISCHERSPOONER:
Fischerspooner are back with the single 'The Best Revenge', returning to fill
that hole they left in the 'theatrical electro' market since they last had new
material out on shop shelves. This time round they're supported by remixes from
Kitsune staple autoKratz and Alex Gopher. The original expands on the
conventional Fischerspooner vocab to the tune of a saxophone. Otherwise they're
back to the kind of energetic, finely spun electropop you'll have come to
expect from these guys. autoKratz ditch the sax and the vocals, laying down a
digitised house romp that bares little resemblance to the source material. Alex
Gopher brings the vocal back for an alternate helping of hyper-compressed
Gallic house, with a mighty bassline and skilful editing refreshing the
original track.Tracklisting: 1. The Best Revenge (original mix) 2. The Best Revenge (autoKratz mix) 3. The Best Revenge (Alex Gopher mix) Link: boomkat.com FEB 10, 2008 LADYTRON: The
