Oct 31, 2008 NEW ORDER: Rhino
pays tribute to New Order with
Double-Disc Collector's Editions of the band's first five albums: Movement',
'Power, Corruption & Lies', 'Low-Life', 'Brotherhood' and 'Technique' .
Each album will be reissued as a double-disc that contains a remastered version
of the original Factory Records recording on the first disc, along with a bonus
disc that collects the band's numerous non-album singles, b-sides and
remixes. On November 11, all five will be available at all retail
outlets.Among the 'Movement' bonus disc highlights is Ceremony, a song written by Joy Division but never recorded in the studio that New Order recorded as its first single. Also included are later singles (Temptation and Everything's Gone Green) that foreshadow the band's more dance-oriented direction. The bonus disc of 'Power, Corruption & Lies' includes Blue Monday and its b-side The Beach, which were released exclusively as a single in the U.K. The bonus disc of 'Low-Life' contains songs the band contributed to the popular film Pretty In Pink, including Shellshock (from the soundtrack) as well as an instrumental version of the album track Elegia that was heard in the film, but not on the soundtrack. The bonus disc of 'Brotherhood' offers the 12" single versions of Touched By The Hand Of God and Bizarre Love Triangle as well as two remixes of True Faith and its b-side 1963. The bonus disc of 'Technique' features the 12" single World In Motion, the official song of the English national football team in 1990's World Cup competition. Also featured is Fine Line, an instrumental version of the album track Fine Time, as well as b-sides Best & Marsh and MTO. Rhino put together a contest where fans can win a signed bass from Peter Hook of New Order. Follow the link below for details. MACHINERY: 'A Soft Exchange' marks the return of an icon of the synthpop
musical genre with a fulminant new album and there is hardly a band
these days that is living this sound the way
Elegant
Machinery do. The two advance singles Feel The Silence and
Move both catapulted the likeable Swedes into the single charts in their
home country and filled us with big expectations. And the band delivers just as
brilliantly on album-length. Breezy melodies, polished arrangements and solid
beats. A Soft Exchange is club-compatible feel-good-music for
sophisticated people. Released on Out Of Line Records on Nov 28,

SOUNDTRACK: What started out as a "little" indie horror movie back in
2004 has turned into a juggernaut go-for-the-throat franchise so gruesome you
want to turn away, yet so compelling you just can't. And fittingly enough, the
movie soundtracks have always been amicable counterparts assaulting the senses
in a fashion that would make Jigsaw proud. Adding to the sonic assault to Saw V
is Charlie Clouser (ex-Nine Inch Nails), no
stranger to the Saw soundtracks, as well as Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Die Krupps,
Fixmer/McCarthy, Emilie Autumn,
Funker Vogt,
and Revolting Cocks amongst others. Released on Synthetic Symphony and

singles, and a contribution to Artoffacts Uturn series, Massiv in Mensch
turn up the heat on 'Meanwhile Back in the Jungle', their fifth and wildest
release to date. Featuring what is already a worldwide club-hit, the magic
collaboration between Massiv in Mensch and
Mind.A.In.Boxon
Supermassive Gravity, 'Meanwhile Back in the Jungle' dangles its goods
and keeps you lured in. Massiv in Mensch never take themselves too seriously,
and their incredible sense of humour shows on tracks such as Pink Dream
and the absolutely essential Hou Je Bek Vuile Teef. The influence of
Scooter, Utah Saints, KLF, and Beastie Boys is all over this record, as are
sounds as diverse as

GUNS: 'Season of Poison' is the second album from synthpop-electronic group
Shiny Toy
Guns, who wowed the world with their debut 'We Are Pilots', it comes with
11 new tracks including the new hit single Ricochet!. The mercurial
foursome, has been described as everything from 'glam-goth-new wave-chic' to
'electronic mash-up with a dance floor destroyer,' thanks to their riveting
breakthrough single Le Disko which topped the charts in 2006. The
playful dance-anthem permeated radio and clubs, was featured in advertisements
for Motorola and Apple and was a single of the week on iTunes' playlist.
'Season of Poison' marks an evolution for the band not only sonically but in
the band dynamics as well. Sisely Treasure from the band Cooler Kids replaced
departed vocalist Carah Faye Charnow who left the group this past summer to
pursue other interests. The songs Ricochet! and Frozen Oceans can
be streamed on the band's Myspace page. Released on Universal and available
November 4th, 2008.Tracklisting: 1. When Did This Storm Begin 2. Money For That 3. I Owe You A Love Song 4. Ghost Town 5. It Became A Lie On You 6. Ricochet! 7. Season Of Love 8. Poison 9. Blutengel have conjured up a very special pre-holiday-season-treat for their
fans. On their most mature single to date, they are enveloping their trademark
hit qualities in a dark, minimal and spine-tingling groove. 'Dancing In The
Light' is pure atmosphere, mingling gloomy intensity with a subversive
catchiness the song is a departure to new frontiers without negating the
groups roots. As the band is preparing celebrations for their tenth
anniversary jubilee, they are releasing not just one but two versions of their
latest gothic-synth-anthem: the single will be released in two different and
strictly limited versions with different cover artwork. Each version will
contain the single version of the song plus two different, exclusive bonus
tracks, one remix and the video clip for the single. 'Dancing In The Light' is
not only the perfect appetizer for the upcoming album from
Blutengel,
scheduled for release early next year, but with its unique balancing act
between the world of darkness and that of light it is also the ideal soundtrack
for the dark time of the year. Released on Out Of Line and available November
14th, 2008.Tracklisting: CD1 [Solitary]: 1. Dancing in the light 2. Dancing in the light (Solitary Mix) 3. Not too late 4. You will be a woman 5. Dancing in the light (videoclip) CD2 [Forsaken]: 1. Order: Dancing in the Light [Forsaken], Dancing in the Light [Solitary] Oct 18, 2008 THE DAMNED: The
legendary The
Damned return with a brand new studio album to follow their 2001's
acclaimed 'Grave Disorder'. SO, WHO'S PARANOID? Certainly not
The Damned,
who have conjured here yet another collection of genre-defying anthems which
effortlessly sits alongside their classic albums. From the catchy, jangly
garage rock opener of A Nation Fit For Heroesto the lushly psychedelic
closing track Dark Asteroid, The Damned masterfully affirm their
legendary status. 32 years on, the heart of
The Damned,
David Vanian and Captain Sensible, beats stronger than ever, proving with 'So,
Who's Paranoid?', that their trademark dark, melodic beauty, tinged with jagged
satire is truly timeless. The official release dates are as follows: Oct 28th -
global download via all the popular DSPs. Nov 17th - UK release instore and via
online retailers. Dec 12th - North America instore and via online

Music is thrilled to announce that it has signed an exclusive worldwide deal
with multi-platinum recording artists Depeche Mode. EMI Music's Mute label has
been the best-selling British trios international home since 1981 when
the label released the groups debut single Dreaming of Me in the U.K. The
new deal means that EMI Music will now release
Depeche
Modes music in the US for the first time, as well as in the rest of
the world. Daniel Miller, chairman, Mute, said: "I am really happy to be
continuing to work with the band. They have been reaching new creative heights
in the studio and they have one of the most devoted fanbases of any band in the
world today. I believe that the Mute and EMI teams are extremely well
positioned to help Depeche Mode build
on their success." The first release under Depeche Modes worldwide
agreement with EMI Music is a new studio album, the bands twelfth, due
outside the U.S. on April 20th, 2009, and in the US on April 21st.

SILENCE: 18 months following their last release 'Aphelia' and right on time for
their 10-year anniversary German Goth rockers Scream Silence return with
'Apathology' their seventh studio album. Intentionally SCREAM SILENCE abstained
from setting themselves musical borders of any kind. Therefore Apathology' is
much more affected by progressive elements than their previous releases. And
although the band still feels close to the gothic rock genre, they recently
started using the definition of depressive rock, associated with bands like
Anathema or
Katatonia. Vocalist Hardy Fieting and Guitarist Robert Klausch worked
intensively together and built a world that could not be more gloomy and
hopeless on 'Apathology'. Depeche Mode have announced the European leg of their "Tour of the
Universe 2009". The band are currently in New York working on a new album,
due April 2009. Depeche Mode's
eagerly-anticipated follow up to 'Playing The Angel' will be the 12th album of
a glorious 28 year career in which they have sold over 75 million records. One
of the world's biggest and best live acts, "Tour of the Universe
2009" will undoubtedly be the musical highlight of next year. Kicking off
in Israel on May 10th, this will be Depeche Mode's first ever stadium tour,
taking in 28 cities across 22 countries before finishing at Porto's Superbock
Super Rock Festival on July 11th.
Depeche Mode
will play to over 1.3 million fans on this European leg of "Tour of the
Universe 2009". It's their first since 2006's "Playing the
Angel" tour, which smashed European sales records with 1.8 million tickets
sold across 87 shows. Martin has written some really great songs, said
Gahan, who
also contributes as a songwriter. So far, two of Dave's contributions have been
recorded but it remains to be seen which songs make it to the album. The band
has a vast amount of songs to chose from this time around.
Martin Gore
has bought lots of old equipment and the team is struggling to make it work
together with modern technology. At least parts of the new album will be built
on machines from the band's history and appears to be very electronic and back
to the roots.Link: depechemode.com Oct 04, 2008 VELJANOV: In
2003, Deine Lakaien singer Alexander Veljanov had the desire to pause for a
while and return to his roots by going back from Germany to his native
Macedonia. On Veljanov's new album titled 'Porta Macedonia' the audience has
the exceptional chance to accompany an artist rediscovering himself. Veljanov
uses byzantine and orthodox elements in his music, his singing sounding almost
sacred. Alongside classical rock instruments are appearances from the crumhorn,
the kaval (Macedonian flute) and the zurla, a Macedonian form of the oboe. In
comparision to the aforementioned instruments, the Hammond organ, theremin and
synthesizer represent a pretty diametric sound. Release date: Nov 11,

vein. The new album will feature the new
Sireniafemale
singer, Ailyn from Spain, as well as guest appearances by Jan Kenneth Barkved
(who also did some guest appearances on the debut 'At Sixes and Sevens'),
French violin player Stephanie Valentin adds to the sound along with the band's
choir that has been an important part of
Sirenia's sound
since the very beginning. All songs on the new album are finished and the album
was recorded in Sound Suite Studios, France and Stargoth Studios, Norway. The
mixing and mastering is taking place in Antfarm Studios, Denmark with Tue

probably not have you expecting easy listening muzak
and, on their new
EP, Agonoize are definitely delivering the goods with a full-blast sonic
attack. With thudding beats and the distortion cranked up to 11, the mad trio
from Berlin plunges headlong into the bizarre mindscapes of psychopaths and the
vertiginous abysses of the human soul. This time, Agonoize are adeptly pushing
their unique mix of aggression, catchy hooks and tongue-in-cheek humor to the
limits and have churned out the hardest hit tune of their entire career in form
of Schaufensterpuppenarsch. 'For The Sick And Disturbed' EP will be

back with "FH3", his 3rd full-length album in 3 years.
"FH3" is once again an evolution from the styles of "FH2" -
expanding and exploring previously untrodden grounds. And while the music is
undeniably Faderhead, it is considerably darker and carries less of a party
vibe. Definitely a departure from the days of songs like Coke For My
Ass, Mono Manand Dirtygrrrls/Dirtybois. Lyrically, the
fun-loving, tongue-in-cheek tone and the smirky ease of "FH2" has
given way to more serious, contemplative topics and much more emotional
statements. What used to be fun, now seems to be sarcasm. Less dancing - more
listening... that seems to be the order of the day when it comes to
"FH3". And while monster-stompers like TZDVare bound to take
dance-floors worldwide by storm, the focus this time lies on storytelling and
good songwriting. Release date: Oct 10, 2008.Tracklisting: 01. Electrosluts Extraordinaire 02. Acquire The Fire 03. Still Missing 04. Another Dead Boy 05. Let Me Go 06. Fuck What You Heard 07. Duran Durans Rio has been named the greatest music video of all
time on MTV. The 1982 video, featuring the band in suits on a Caribbean beach
being teased by scantily-clad women, beat favourites such as Michael
Jacksons Thrillerand Madonnas Like a Prayer to claim
the title. Bjorks video
for her 1999 hit All Is Full of Love, where she played a robot in a
steamy clinch with another robot, took second place. Take On Me, the
1985 video from A-ha, where singer
Morten Harket was a comic book character who comes to life, was third, followed
by Jacksons famously spooky 1983 hit Thriller. Icelandic group
Sigur Ross surreal video for Svefn-g-Englar was fifth in the poll of MTV
viewers, followed by the anarchic gig scene in Nirvanas Smells Like
Teen Spirit (1991). Radioheads Just video (1995), featuring a
man inexplicably lying down in the street and Jamiroquais Virtual
Insanity (1996), where he danced on a moving floor, were next. The top ten
was completed by Madonnas Like A Prayer (1989), controversial for
featuring burning crosses, statues weeping blood and the singer seducing a
black Jesus, and US group OK GOs Here It Goes Again (2006), with
the band on treadmills. Around 40,000 MTV viewers voted for the
poll.Video Streams: Duran Duran - Rio [--] Bjork - All is Full of Love [--] A-Ha - Take on Me NICK CAVE & THE

'Intimacy', Bloc Party's third album, was made available August 21st in digital
form, but the physical CD will only be released on October 27th, 2008. The CD
version of the album will feature bonus tracks. Lyrically, the album is far
more introverted than the band's previous effort, 'A Weekend in the City',
whilst musically, the album combines the jittery art rock of 'Silent Alarm'
with the fuller soundscapes of 'A Weekend in the City', as well as bringing in
the electronic elements introduced in the singles Flux and
Mercury. The band has also drawn a heavily Big Beat-influenced sound
with songs like Ares and Mercury. Ion Square features
lyrics from E. E. Cummings' poem "I Carry Your Heart with Me".
Frontman and chief lyric writer of
Bloc Party,
Kele Okereke, has said that this is his "break-up" album and many of
the songs concern a break-up he endured at the end of 2007.Tracklisting: 01. Ares 02. Mercury 03. Halo 04. Biko 05. Trojan Horse 06. Signs 07. One Month Off 08. Zephyrus 09. Better Than Heaven 10. Ion Square. Link: blocparty.com AUG 17, 2008 DELERIUM:

Revue Noir is the collaboration between dark cabaret chanteuse Nicki Jaine and
Black Tape for a Blue Girl leader Sam Rosenthal. Residing somewhere between
rock, cabaret and torch singer, Nicki's captivating performance embodies the
decadence and sorrow that filled the nights of pre-WWII Europe. Her direct,
passionate delivery implores, seduces and screams out, setting a mood of desire
and despair. Arranging vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, electronics, drums and
violin, Sam brings together the diverse elements to create a nurturing
environment for Nicki's performance. Along with the 10 original compositions
are versions of The Velvet Underground's All Tomorrow's Parties, David
Bowie's Rock 'n' Roll Suicideand the Brecht/Weill classic Alabama
Song. Within the originals are three tracks Sam first recorded with Black
Tape for a Blue Girl. For 'Anthology Archive', along with the already released
material, Sam archived and revived seven additional rehearsal, demo & live
tracks including two brand new original compositions (Strange Little
Showand She is the Madman). "When Revue Noir stopped performing
in 2005, there were only five songs that we released," Sam recalls.
'Anthology Archive' is an intimate glimpse at what could have been / what might
yet be.Tracklisting: 01.The Gravediggers 02.Amsterdam 03.A Girl, A Smoke 04.Rock N' Roll Suicide 05. Sometimes, Sunshine 06. I have no more answers | MP3 Clip 07. GUNS: Shiny Toy Guns announce their new album 'Season of Poison'. Its
due out the last week of October. However, a single will be released earlier on
August 11. The new CD is said to be as keyboard driven as it is organic but
gone are the drum machines, gone are the super fluffy pop synths. Instead the
record is taking more of a road of a band that merges Queens Of The Stone Age
with old Skinny Puppy, dipped in Peter Schilling with a little Flash Gordon
sprinkled on top. Ripping rock guitars and all toms on the drums instead of
straight rock beats with 100% analog synths slicing through everything around
it. The band announces also a new female singer, confirming that singer Carah
Faye Charnow is no longer with the band. The
Shinyboys
have decided to go on without Carah who is now working on a new project in
Sweden. Songs rumored to be included on the new album are When Revelation
Calls and Blown Away. The band will go on tour to support the new
release, including a date playing at the L.A.Weekly Detour Festival on October
