JUL 26, 2009 BLACK TAPE FOR A BLUE GIRL: '10 Neurotics' (their 10th studio album) reimagines the passion of Black Tape For A Blue Girl (and founder / songwriter, Sam Rosenthal) in a rock / dark cabaret setting. Sam challenged himself to put the electronics and lushness aside; he wrote these songs on the acoustic guitar, an instrument he had never played before. Featuring drum kit and bass for the first time in 20 years (courtesy of new band-member Brian Viglione of The Dresden Dolls), these fourteen songs are revealing first person narratives. These are stories so unnerving and personal that '10 Neurotics' features an all-new line-up; the previous vocalists quit the group out of discomfort with the content. The songs deal with a range of taboo topics: dominance/submission, furries, police state fetishists, pro-anna, exhibitionists, humiliation, self-destruction, cuckolding, and anonymous sex. New vocalists are Athan Maroulis ex-Spahn Ranch, Laurie Reade ex-Attrition & Nicki Jaine. Guest vocal appearance by Lucas Lanthier of Cinema Strange on Curious, Yet Afraid and Elysabeth Grant (vocals on I Strike You Down). Guest appearances from Michael Laird (percussion on Caught by a Stranger), Lisa Feuer (flute on Tell Me You've Taken Another) & Gregor Kitzis (violin on Rotten Zurich Cafe) The new album's street date is September 22, but the digital release will be available on August 25. While collaboration began in London’s burgeoning underground warehouse scene, it is has since landed on daytime radio and the upper echelons of the British charts. Influenced by synthpop icons of the 80s like Yazoo, The Human League, Eurythmics, and Heaven 17, La Roux make retro electro-pop for the masses. Single In For The Kill recently reached #2 and sustained its position for seven consecutive weeks. Formed at the height of the millennium in February 2000, goth/pop outfit RazorBladeKisses is a unique band comprised of an unusual blend of varying talents. Hailing from distant Persia, the two female vocalists Layla and Azadeh create unique lyrical and dark melodies, which are ever contradicting, genre defying and teasingly challenging to musical boundaries. In Persian mythology, the butterfly is said to carry the souls of the dead. The Iranian speech used on the track The Butterfly is taken from the poem "This Bird Is Going to Die" by famous Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad and expresses the feeling of being trapped like a caged bird. RazorBladeKisses deliver what can only be described as the secret recipe for a twisted dark fairytale. Six USB sticks have been given to agents around the world. The fans need to mobilise to retrieve these USB sticks, enter a code from them on the microsite to unlock puzzles that all fans can contribute to solving online. Clues as to the whereabouts of the USBs and times for pick ups are all being released at the site and the fans are discussing each stage in great detail on the band’s official forum. So far the Paris, Berlin and Moscow and Dubai USBs have been retrieved, the puzzles unlocked and solved, hence revealing 4 x 37 sec (almost 2.5 min) of the song. The longplayer 'Anthology (1992-2009)' contains 32 songs on two CDs (plus 4 video-clips) including hits like Confession, Conversation Overkill, Tears Of Joy, Sex' Cross and the DAC top-ten-hit Mandragore. 15 tracks on CD1 have been taken from the band's five studio-records released so far plus three brand new recordings (one of the new tracks Dunkle Zeit was presented live on stage in April at the Synthetic Air-furt festival). CD2 contains 14 previously unreleased songs, recorded between 1992 and 2009. For the very first time, fans will be able to listen to the demos recorded by Oliver Faig and Alexander Braun before the original line-up split. Three tracks from the early days, composed by Braun have been re-recorded and produced by french sound wizard Peter Rainman. A co-operation between Oliver Faig and Manfred Thomaser from 1999 will be available for the first time, just like other archive-songs and brand new recordings from 2008. Shortly after the announcement of their new 7“- Ltd edition single 'Until We Die' (released July 31), Suicide Commando are ready to drop the next MCD 'Die Motherfucker Die'. The new single is as aggressive as the title implies. Abrasive beats, acidic synths, and corrosive melodies combine with Johan Van Roy’s harsh sneering vocals to create a dangerous mix of anger, hatred, and rage. While the single will appease some of his fans, most will get even more pissed off that they have to wait a little while longer for the new album. Dave will be unable to perform during this recovery period and he and the band regret that they must cancel these final two shows of their European tour. However for Claire Voyant, the wait was well worth it. Their newest release, 'Lustre', shows a dramatic overall improvement in their musical compositions and a maturity in their lyrics. Each track is beautifully written and accentuated by Victoria Lloyd’s amazing vocals, but just because the music sounds beautiful, it doesn’t mean that every song is a happy one. We can now confirm that they have completed their long awaited debut LP 'Never Cry Another Tear' which is set for worldwide release on 5th October 2009 on Triple Echo Records. The album features sounds that have helped make New Order such a treasured, innovative force over the past three decades, but also featured is a brand new voice from exotic Macclesfield, Jake Evans. Together, the band have spent over a year writing, recording and mixing the album near Manchester, which features additional musicians including Alex James (Blur) and Stephen Morris (New Order and Joy Division) on several recordings. Their name is a play on words, meaning new-wave in French. This refers simultaneously to their "Frenchness" and "artiness" (the '60s new wave of cult French cinema), the source of their songs (all covers of punk rock, post-punk, and New Wave songs), and their use of '60s bossa nova-style arrangements ("bossa nova" being Portuguese for new-wave). 'Forever Is The World' is the title of their seventh opus, due in Europe on September 18 via AFM Records. The CD was recorded at Room 13 studios in Oslo with producer Alexander Møklebust, who has previously worked with Zeromancer, Seigmen, and Delaware, among others. The mastering was handled by Bjørn Engelmann at the Cutting Room in Sweden. Fortunately, Sophie and Marianthi do not revert to blindly copying well-tried success formulas from Pop-eras past, but rather use the same tools to cook up a delicate and delicious Electro Pop stew of their own. On their third album 'Lumineux Noir', the two girls prove yet again that they have got a formidable talent for writing irresistibly catchy melodies, this time around spiced up with a healthy dose of modern club sensibility. The darker note that haunts a few of the tracks, quite befitting of the album title, provides an interesting counterpoint, as well. Link: myspace/mesh  JUN 14, 2009 DELEYAMAN: Following the release of the album '3', in 2006, Deleyaman have written and composed over 25 titles. 11 of these compositions, recorded, mixed and mastered entirely in the band's studio in Normandy, France, are now presented as 'Fourth, Part One' . The remaining material is set to appear as 'Fourth, Part Two', a complimentary yet contrasting sister-release which will come later this year.Inspiration for the lyrics comes partially from the works of American poets E.A. Robinson, A. Hecht, R.W. Emerson, E.A. Poe, H. Crane and T. Stickney, but also from the Lebanese mystic poet Khalil Gibran. Most of the titles are sung in English, except for two tracks sung in Armenian and the track Jardin, sung in French, the words taken from the poem Nous n'Irons plus au Bois, by T. de Banville. The use of several languages by Beatrice Valantin and Aret Madilian, the two vocalists, has always been a distinct characteristic of the band, whose members all come from different backgrounds. The album is produced by American, Grammy awarded producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Monster Magnet). The album was recorded in Los Angeles, USA during the spring. Like the song titles refer, the album is heavily influenced by horror movies. The album cover art is designed by the world famous LA based artist Estevan Oriol and his SA Studio. While in hospital, further medical tests revealed a low-grade malignant tumour in Dave's bladder, which has since been successfully removed. Dependent stopped releasing new material in late 2007 due to the devastating effects music piracy has had on both artists and record labels and has not released any new material since. Dependent owner Stefan Herwig comments on the decision to reopen: "We have constantly been getting encouraging mails from fans asking us to reopen or continue operations as Dependent. We were also surprised, as we did not think that our absence from the European industrial scene would have created such a noticeable gap, but I think that it has. I was particularly shocked to discover some absolutely amazing new recordings and newcomer bands being unable to find label support and getting lost in the vast pool of mediocre bands on the internet. This reopening would not be possible without the partnership with Metropolis Records which will see both labels merging significant portions of the artist rosters. For example, Metropolis will give Dependent European rights to key artists like Front Line Assembly, strengthening our artist roster considerably. Joining forces will also enable both Dependent and Metropolis to make extremely attractive distribution offers for both the European and North American territories.
